Camp meeting begins in a few days. Doesn't that sound ______________________?

A few weeks ago I experienced my first foray into coaching. To make a long story short: I was asked to coach our church school basketball team 30 minutes before the tipoff of their first game.

"Christians talk about hating sin and loving sinners, but the way they go about things, they might as well call it what it is. They hate the sin and the sinner."[1]

Ouch.

"We need to change our methods but NOT our message," seems to be a favorite catch phrase in ministry circles today. This phrase is used to promote creativity in evangelism while assuring the members that our message will not be diluted or changed in the process.  While this platitude might sound good to some, I find it objectionable on two levels.
