In the current seemingly never-ending, misnamed and mischaracterized Creationism vs. Evolutionism discussions, debates, and diatribes, one fact seems consistently overlooked by most activist Adventist Young Earth (YEC) and/or Young Life Creationists (YLC). 

The Amazing Facts organization of Doug Batchelor recently sent out a mailing in an envelope in the form of a non-existent newspaper "The Daily Chronicle" carrying the headline "Pope Signs New Globalization Encyclical." 

The badly misnamed "EducateTruth" web site is, with some rare exceptions, the place to go if you wish to read Adventist populists and fundamentalists venting their displeasure and rage at the La Sierra University biology department whose faculty possesses the intellectual and moral strength to teach science uncontaminated by medieval ideas about how the living world developed.

If we only base our understanding of contemporary Adventism on official sources such as the Adventist Review and the Union Conference papers, we might fail to appreciate the great diversity of views existing within the contemporary North American Adventist Church.  You can consult the web site of the Adventist Theological Society and Adventist Affirm for the voices of the traditional/conse

Of all the major indigenous American religious denominations (e.g., SDA [Adventist], LDS [Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mormon], JW [Watchtower Society-Jehovah’s Witness], Christian Science [Church of Christ, Scientist]), the Adventist approach to science and higher education is most interesting because it seems to border on the institutionally schizophrenic.
